Ras Al Khaimah Green Building Regulations known as “Barjeel”, intends to support the United Arab Emirates‟ vision of creating more sustainable buildings, communities and cities. The aim of the GBR is to transform the construction industry in Ras Al Khaimah
تهدف لائحة شروط المباني الخضراء لامارة رأس الخيمة ، المسماة “بارجيل” ،الى دعم رؤية دولة الامارات العربية المتحدة في انشاء مباني ومجمعات ومدن اكثر استدامة،عن طريق توجيه قطاع البناء والتشييد لتحقيق تلك الاهداف.
Requirements of the Green Building Regulation are defined for the following building typologies:
- Residential Buildings
- Public Buildings
- Commercial Buildings
- Hospitality Buildings
- Industrial Buildings

Close System has successfully applied Barjeel Green Building Standards for the design and construction of a Residential Compound in Ras Al Khaimah for the Sheikh Zayed Housing Programme.

Barjeel contains easy guidelines for design and the consultancies registered in RAK have already received the training of Barjeel.’ – H.E. “قطاع البناء مستعد لتطبيق برنامج بارجيل , طبقا للخبرة المكتسبة من تطبيق برامج مشابهة في الامارات الاخرى. كما ان المواد المطلوبة متوفرة بامارة راس الخيمة ودولة الامارات. يحتوي برنامج برجيل علي ارشادات سهلة للتصميم وقد تلقي الإستشاريين المسجلين في رأس الخيمة تدريبا عن برنامج برجيل” منذر محمد بن شاكر – مدير عام بلدية رأس الخيمة .
Barjeel is aimed at new buildings in the UAE emirate and is described as “the most important” programme within Rak Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Strategy 2040, established under the patronage of HH Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi.

As buildings are – in general- the largest energy-consuming sector in cities, Barjeel regulations offer a significant opportunity for energy and cost saving. Barjeel regulations can lead to the reduction of CO2 emissions in the Emirate of RAK and aid in the fight against climate change.
Relative to almost all other investments, energy efficiency retrofit – installing newer energy efficiency technologies in older buildings – cost-effectively creates more distributed jobs and enhances economic activity, reduces costs for businesses and households of all income levels, reduces emissions, and improves energy security.
تعد المباني بشكل عام ،أكبر قطاع مستهلك للطاقة في المدن ، ومن هذا المنطلق فإن لائحة المباني الخضراء “بارجيل”، تتيح فرصة تحقيق توفير كبير في استهلاك الطاقة وتكلفة التشغيل . لائحة المباني الخضراء ستؤدي بشكل مباشر الى خفض الانبعاثات الكربونية ومكافحة تغير المناخ.
